Stupid Blogger... Rar
Well, I apologise for the delay in posting. Apparently instead of posting my last few posts, Blogger has been saving them as drafts. When I try to post those, it deletes them. Soo... here's a bit I managed to recover from one of them:
This week was a complete waste (does that make four in a row?) Chemistry has been reduced to card-playing, our sub on Friday seemed worried that we should be doing work, but we told him we had been playing cards all week.
The weekend was pretty decent... Friday and Saturday nights were spent at Goose's house, watching movies including Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Kill Bill Vol. I, and some political commedy that started with a B or a D.
That takes you up through last weekend, with a few major gaps. Dad left for Vietnam with my aunt for three weeks last Thursday, it sounds like he's been having a fun trip. Someone in their group was attacked by a monkey and had to go to the hospital... wouldn't that be interesting? "Hey... how'd you get that scar?" "I got bit by a monkey back in 'Nam..." Neither he nor my aunt were bitten, and I guess the person is fine, so thats always a plus.
Anyway... thats about it for "interesting" (only slightly) stuff last week. This week has been decent so far. Still going out to lunch every day at Fred Meyer, its only about $1 more than the school food, and SOOO much better. Seriously, you can get a real sandwich, or some fries with actual potato in them, fried chicken, mountain dew (with a buy-one-get-one-free cap)... all kinds of stuff that is better than grease saturated pizza or a hamburger with unknown meat.
Yesterday was the SMT fieldtrip to Mt. St. Helens. Since very few of my readers went, I'll say a few things about it. Met at school at 7:30, I was assigned to the mostly-senior bus with a group of other juniors... nice. There was another bus of juniors and a few sophomores in our group, the three busses of freshmen and sophomores went to the places in a different order. We stopped at a bunch of different visitor centers (the one near the freeway, the one a bit closer, and the one almost directly in front of the crater). We also stopped at the sediment retention dam (long name, sounds boring. A hike through the woods with a hundred teenagers is never boring.) I have a few pictures from there (thanks to Kyrie and her awesome picture-taking-skills.) Just a warning: I was too lazy to resize them before putting them online, so for any of you with slow connections, they might take a while. If you all complain enough, I might make it a bit smaller... but hey, these are wallpaper sized! (If you are using me as a wallpaper on your computer, I think I should be creeped out!) Here's Forrest... in the forest! and the playground at the visitors center where we stopped at lunctime.
Oh yea... and to top it all off, one of the freshman busses broke down on the way home, so we had to wait for them to call a new bus. FORTY MINUTES! I have no clue why we had to wait on the "Dike Access Road" for forty minutes while all the other busses kept going, it wasn't like we were doing anything to help. Got home around 7:00, but it was still better than going to school. Plus, I actually got some sun!
Today was a day... like almost every other day at school, nothing much happened. Skoog managed to do something entertaining in chemistry today! We sat around and ate while playing cards as usual, but we were in the physics room, watching him light off large water bottles (you know, those giant, kinda blue-ish things that they have in offices and places like that) full of alcohol. Some of the alcohols burned really fast, but some of them would make great one-shot flame throwers!
Hattan caught a bunch of people who had been using her answer key for quizzes. There was a question that wasn't in the book, and 6 people managed to answer it correctly. Wasn't me, but she wasn't too happy with a lot of people today.
Along the lines of unhappy teachers, band has been sucking lately. Jazz band has been the worst, we're playing retarded music and stopping after every few measures. People don't show up on time (there were three of us there at 6:30 this morning, that's not unusual.) Oh well. Less than a month to go!
Well... I think thats about it. I'll try to post more, now that it seems Blogger isn't being dumber than a pothead in... well, actually, a pothead pretty much anywhere. My jokes are getting stupider than normal, which is a good sign this post is over.
